East-West Express was founded in 1985 by Richard Cangemi, owner and president. The name reflects the company's basic strategy for business: running an east to west dedicated route hauling various general commodity freight to the west coast and then hauling fresh and frozen vegetables on the return trip. A basic principle of East-West is providing shippers with team drivers that drive all late model premium air ride equipment and fuel efficient tractors that have the comfort of a "home away from home."
